Justin Roche planted the Justin vineyard in the 1960’s at the southern end of the region close to Rocky Gully. The vineyard has classic Frankland River soils, chiefly iron rich, lateritic, gravelly or sandy loams* derived from granite or gneissic rocks, typically red in colour and of uniform depth.  With north and south facing slopes, parcels mature over several weeks.

Region:
Great Southern

This wine region, about eight times the size of Margaret River, is 150 kilometres from north to south and 100 kilometres from east to west. It is the largest wine Geographical Indication in the world. Vast and diverse, the regional climate ranges from the maritime sub regions of Albany and Denmark to the inland continental sub regions of Porongurup and Frankland River. The region already produces around half of Western Australia’s wine show successes, and its future potential is immense.
