2020 Cherubino Margaret river caberntet sauvignon

Highly perfumed Margaret River cabernet that provides a point of difference to the excellent '19. This delivers a velvety smooth palate deep with rich and opulent fruit flavour from this highly concentrated vintage. It is quite effortless as it takes you through the mid-palate and into a  stunning long finish. The tannin and oak work on the palate is superb. High class.

2021 Cherubino Frankland river shiraz

The elegance and charm of this vintage in Frankland River is immediately evident. Much of the finesse refinement comes from the use of the new Waldron, 470 and 174 clones. It is a sumptuous shiraz that draws on the beautifully fragrant and flavoursome fruit of this region. Ironstone and spicy plummy fruit flavours with chocolate coating to complete. A crowd pleaser.

2019 Cherubino ovale beautiful south red blend

Beautiful South, indeed. Comes off the Riversdale vineyard using a mix of different clones for the cabernet sauvignon, malbec and merlot. A thoroughly deliciously engaging red blend offering plush bright fruit flavours augmented by some gentle oak treatment and supported by a fine thread of tannin. The textural feel in the mouth is sublime.

2022 uovo chardonnay

Sourced from Pemberton and shows that slightly lighter and more pristine character. It's made using a clay cement egg with the principle that the lees are constantly forced up allowing the juice to pick up flavour and mouth feel. It retains a delightfully light feel but with super intensity. An elegant wine with touches of lemon curd and quince gentle coaxed from the palate.

2021 uovo grenache

Yet another marvellous grenache from Frankland River. The energy and vitality evident immediately is remarkable. It has a lot to do with the cement ovoid egg that allows the lees to continually work through the fruit. It's fragrant with an engaging bouquet of rose petal and raspberry. The palate is pure joy.

2021 laissez faire syrah

Medium-bodied syrah from Frankland River. It's an effortlessly delivered wine of real style. Cherubino has made good use of some of his alternative syrah clones from the Riversdale vineyard. Lifted ferruginous aromas are regionally distinctive while the earthy dark fruits swirl through a delicious palate. Minimal intervention has allowed the fruit to express itself.

2021 laissez faire iv blend

This is a blend of counoise, mataro, shiraz and grenache. It's a balanced and poised blend and offers great drinking over the next few years. It's a wine I prefer to drink when those vibrant bouncy fruit flavours are dominant. The counoise seems to add a slight peppery crisp acidity to   elevate the other varieties. It's an important contribution.

2021 pedestal shiraz

A balanced and poised juicy shiraz from Margaret River. Has a soft and quite supple mouthfeel with grainy tannins in support. Lots of dark fruits display a lifted spicy character with an infusion of cherry and gentle roasted coffee bean.

2019 uovo cabernet nebbiolo

An interesting combination woven together with time in the concrete egg, which creates a vortex that moves the lees upwards, contributing to its plump full palate. Plenty of blackcurrant flavours with a dusty thread from the nebbiolo. The chalky tannins are finely integrated and the generous fruit flavours burst out. Plenty of appeal with that final tarry edge adding to the complex sustained finish.

2022 laissez faire grenache

This is why we love grenache and why it has become such a popular wine. Aromas of light red fruit confectionery with subtle damp turned earthy influences. It was treated in French oak foudres which has clearly contributed to its expressiveness and textural feel. Slightly chewy finish adds  appeal.

2022 laissez faire mencia

Been a bit of a fan of this variety since it started to appear largely from the Great Southern and the Riversdale vineyard. Loads of bright red fruits deliver with ease and style. It's a soft and supple wine that is perfect for current drinking. But of course, there is a little more to it than that. The chalky tannins and well-weighted oak are superbly managed. Love it.

2021 the yard Riversdale shiraz

Lots to chew on here. Immediately a mix of ironstone and dark plummy blackberry fruit emerges. The combination of the sweet fruit and a little spicy black pepper creates such a neatly aligned palate. In this case the Waldron, 470 and 174 clones are making an impact. Smooth and velvety.

2022 Cherubino ovale Margaret river rose

Comes off the Willows vineyard in Margaret River. It's a lighter modern style of rose. The colour is pale blush. The nose is influenced by the floral grenache and a little oak. The palate, oh, the palate. Just gorgeous and so appealing with light red fruits supported with a touch of oak.

2021 uovo cabernet touriga

The use of the concrete egg and its continual fruit circulation has allowed the firm cabernet and fleshier touriga to knit together into a plush velvety smooth red blend. Plummy black cherry dominance with a little black fruit pudding. Extra year in bottle has brought this baby into the world. Drinking so well.

2022 uovo riesling

I do like this riesling. Cherubino makes it in a clay cement egg which creates a vortex to work the lees into the palate. Retains it pristine brightness but with the extra dimension of a textural palate. The mineral light citrus edge remains a fundamental part.

2022 laissez faire pemberton pinot noir

This comes of the excellent Channybearup vineyard in Pemberton. Love the structure and poise in this pinot. Engaging aromas of spices and light cloves with a strawberry red fruit thing emerging. The palate is light bodied but poised with fine chalky tannins doing their thing. Incredibly long palate.

2022 the yard Channybearup sauvignon blanc

Crunchy apple and pear characters burst from the glass. This is savvy with a little extra, which comes from the partial barrel fermentation. Gee, it makes quite a difference, transforming that bright and fresh fruit savvy into a wine of great sophistication, but still a lot of fun.

2022 the yard acacia shiraz

A wonderfully bright and vibrant shiraz from the Acacia Vineyard in Frankland River. You will fall in love with the perfumed sweet plummy aromatics with a trace of violet. Soft and slightly grainy palate is a joy with a fine chalky acidity and fine-grained tannin contributing to a palate coating layer of flavour.

2019 pedestal elevation cabernet sauvignon

Just starting to hit its straps. Most of the ‘19s seem to take that little extra time to come together and release their full potential. This is one of those. It's off the Pedestal Vineyard in Margaret River. Typical blackcurrant and leafy graphite and black olive nuances. The palate is generous and full, with a dark chocolate and black fruit mix. A slightly sinewy tannin influence gives focus and direction.
