La Spinetta Wine Dinner

An exclusive evening with one of Piedmont's most celebrated winemakers. 

On Wednesday 17 June, Giorgio Rivetti of La Spinetta joins Larry Cherubino at City Cellar for an intimate wine dinner.

Founded in Piedmont in 1977, La Spinetta is renowned for its masterful expression of indigenous grapes and elegant, age-worthy wines. As pioneers of single-vineyard Barbera, makers of celebrated Barbaresco and Barolo, and the house behind the iconic rhino label, La Spinetta has helped shape the modern identity of Piedmont. Giorgio is also recognised as one of the original Barolo Boys, who helped cement the region’s reputation around the world. 

Seven wines on pour, including Linea Retta — the joint project between Giorgio and Larry, built on a shared vineyard-first philosophy — and the Contratto Metodo Classico sparkling range. Paired with a seasonal menu by Ben Jacob, from Masseria Restaurant, designed to bring the character of each wine into focus.

Producer Dinner Series | Duke's Vineyard

Join us at City Cellar for the next edition of our Producer Dinner Series — an intimate evening of food, wine, and conversation shared around the table.

On Thursday 25 June, we welcome Duke's Vineyard— a boutique, family-owned winery from the Porongurup subregion in Western Australia’s Great Southern.

Known for cool-climate wines with purity, precision and a strong sense of place, Duke’s Vineyard has built an outstanding reputation over more than 20 years, including being awarded Best Australian Wine of the Year in 2019 for the 2017 Magpie Hill Reserve Riesling by James Halliday’s Wine Companion.

Now led by winemaker Ben Cane and Sarah Date, the estate continues to evolve under a thoughtful, minimal-intervention approach in both vineyard and winery, bringing fresh energy to the next chapter of Duke’s Vineyard.

Expect a relaxed dinner format: antipasti and cheese to share, followed by pasta, all paired with a guided tasting on the night.
