2025 ‘Ad Hoc – Wallflower’ Riesling recognised by Young Gun of Wine

We’re pleased to share that our 2025 Cherubino ‘Ad Hoc – Wallflower’ Riesling (Great Southern) has been featured in Young Gun of Wine: Great Southern’s Best Riesling.

The article brings together a selection of standout Rieslings from across the region, highlighting the depth and diversity of styles being produced in Great Southern — a region that continues to build a strong reputation for precision, structure and expressive cool-climate wines.

As part of the feature, the wine was selected among the top six wines of the day by Chris Webb, head sommelier and beverage manager, who noted:

“a riesling bursting with so much concentrated citrus flavour – every sip is a cocktail of assorted orange varieties, Meyer lemon and mandarin. Some pithy texture builds towards the finish, adding length and spicy complexity. That pithiness builds a long and thought-provoking finish – and suggests that this is a riesling that could be cellared for many years.”

Young Gun of Wine also released a series of short videos alongside the article, featuring sommeliers and wine merchants discussing the wines and sharing insights into the region — a thoughtful perspective on what makes Great Southern Riesling so distinctive today.
