Cherubino Laissez Faire Syrah featured in Young Gun of Wine
The 2021 Cherubino Laissez Faire Syrah has been featured in Young Gun of Wine’s “Australia’s Best Syrah” article.
Included among Shen’s top six picks, the wine was recognised for its balance of softness and mineral precision, standing out within the line-up for its supple structure and well-balanced finish.
The review describes the wine as dark ruby in appearance, with a slight rose aroma. On the palate, it unfolds with flavours of rose candy and Japanese umeboshi, closing with a long finish of black raspberry and a granular mineral feel reminiscent of stones and sand at the beach.
Shen also noted the wine’s food-friendly character, suggesting it would pair beautifully with Thai food such as Tom Yum Soup, thanks to its medium body and ability to complement creamy, tangy and slightly sweetened savoury dishes.
Produced from Frankland River syrah in the Great Southern, the 2021 Cherubino Laissez Faire Syrah reflects the brightness, elegance and mineral detail that define the Laissez Faire range.
This is a strong recognition for the wine and another great endorsement of Cherubino’s work with Western Australian syrah.
